Shout-out to [livejournal.com profile] dangermousie who showed me how to do an LJ cut. Yes I know, I'm utterly retarded.

I'll probably write something longer later today, but for now here are some quick thoughts on ep 9 of K-Hanadan. Spoilers ahoy.

1. They are REALLY showing how starved for family Jun Pyo is this last episode. That scene where they are preparing kimchi and you just see him having so much fun being dorky with Jan Di's family. IT BROKE MY SOUL.

2. The guy they picked to be K-Yuki's boyfriend totally looked the part of the douchey boyfriend. Good casting,. I wanted to punch him in the head the moment I saw him.

3. That date scene had really adorable parts.

4. $#%^*&(&%@#$$%#$@$ JAN DI KICKED THE SHIT OUT OF THAT MOTHERFUCKER!!! When they put her so high up in that scene, I'd been sure they were going to skip her beating that guy up. And then she JUMPS OVER THAT THING LIKE FREAKING JET LEE. ^%$#@@!

5. That was the hottest "peck" I've ever scene. (Although they cut off before the end, so you don't know if they're progressing to more) If the Japanese adopted this system of kissing in their dramas I'd be A-OKAY with it.

Jun Pyo's mom is so damn scary. She's the scariest out of all the moms in the adaptation.

But it was really cute how she was just hanging onto him like a monkey.
I LOVED that! She looked so happy and excited while he just looked bored and a little disgusted. They are sooo adorable!

AND also when he asked her why she was doing this for a phone when he could just buy it for her, and she says because she want to get it through her own abilities. He's all, YOUR abilities.
Damn I really need to see it with subs!

I agree than Jun Pyo's mom is terrifying. AND she loves fur just as much as Jun Pyo which I find hilarious for some reason.

Lol the entire Gu family seems to love to adorn themselves with furry dead things.

OH MY GOD. I just remembered that scene when they were doing the swimming competition and Jun Pyo's sister had this furry animal--from head to tail-- draped over her shoulder.

I...that was one hell of a fashion statement.

That was totally a fox. I COULD SEE ITS TAIL OVER HER SHOULDER! *shudder*

I COULD SEE ITS TAIL OVER HER SHOULDER!

GOOD GOD. Why do people think wearing these things is a good idea. That would so creep me out. I wouldn't be able to stop thinking, ROADKILL ON MY SHOULDER!

I was screaming that at the monitor basically. At least Jun Pyo doesn't wear as much fur anymore. Lately he's been looking like a fairly normal (using that very loosely) well-dressed teenager.

You know, with K-dramas sometimes leaning to the BAD side of fashion spectrum, I they would have had a field day with this. They've had some...questionable pieces (like Jun Pyo's coat/dress) but most of the things they've had on the actors are pretty tame.

[identity profile] sodahands.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
That's true. They've all been dressing fairly normal except for in New Caledonia. Oh those pink pair of pants and mandals...

[identity profile] seven-trees.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Oh and the hamburger dress. That was a hot mess.

[identity profile] sodahands.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
That hamburger dress still wasn't as bad as her marshmallow top with red skirt ensemble.

[identity profile] seven-trees.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Oh god, the fashion. IT BURNS!

[identity profile] sodahands.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
They are still doing better than Goong and all its polka dots. Yeesh now that show pretty much set the bar for blindingly bad fashion *shudder*

[identity profile] seven-trees.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
If we're going by countries, then Goong definitely set the bar for bad K-drama fashion. But if we go with Asia in general, I think it's a pretty close tie between Goong's polka dot shirts and J-Hanadan's metallic jackets and pointy shoes.

[identity profile] sodahands.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh god, J-Hanadan's fashion pretty much left me speechless. Every time I saw Domyouji kick someone I was afraid the person was going to get stabbed by his shoes.
